Chainsaw Man is now a few episodes into the debut season of its anime adaptation, and a special new cover showcases a new look at Aki Hayakawa to help celebrate! Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original manga series is one of the most popular manga out there today, so the hype for its anime seemed to be greater than anything before. Fans couldn’t wait to see characters like Denji brought to the screen, and the first few episodes of the series have impressed fans with how the anime team has pulled it off so far.
Many fans were particularly impressed by Aki’s role in all of this. First introduced in the series as a more serious, stern wall for Denji and Power’s antics to bounce off, the episodes so far have begun to reveal more and more hidden layers. This will continue throughout the series as she is likely to become a major fan favorite in the anime, and to help with that she will be covered as an upcoming issue of the women’s lifestyle magazine, anan. Showcasing a great new look at Aki, you can check out the cover art below:
Who is Aki in Chainsaw Man?
Aki was introduced to Denji (and the fans) as the leading demon hunter of the Tokyo Special Division 4 Public Safety Commission, which is full of experimental fighters like Chainsaw Man and the Blood Fiend, Power. Aki has his own ways to combat the devil’s threats (which also hurt him), and will continue to reveal more about his mysterious thoughts on life in the episodes that continue from here on out. So now is the time to tune in.
Teasing the anime as such, “Denji is a teenage boy who lives with a chainsaw devil named Pochita. Because of the debt his father left him, he lives a life of low life and repays his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.” One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. When his consciousness fades, he makes a pact with Pochita and is revived as the ‘Chainsaw Man’ – a man with a devil’s heart.”
