Chainsaw Man vs. Katana Man’s battle ended in spectacularly bloody fashion, with the series not hitting and killing quite a few devil hunters. As Denji, Power, Aki, and Makima lick their wounds, the human demon hunter who has made a pact with both the Cursed Devil and the Fox Devil has some serious mental healing to do. Waking up in a hospital bed, the violent anime adaptation knows how to unleash emotional beats when it needs to.
Aki entered the game of devil hunting knowing that the dangerous profession meant his time on this Earth was short, before the various deals he made with devils greatly shortened his lifespan. Using his supernatural sword while trying to take down Katana Man, Aki wakes up in his hospital bed and is told by the devil that he only has two years left to live due to the deal they made. In addition to this horrible reality, Aki is barely able to hold himself together when he realizes that Himeno has left this mortal coil and hit another friend in his life.
With nothing to lose it would seem, Aki is now more than willing to make as many deals with devils as possible to gain a serious edge in his deadly profession. the basement of his organization’s headquarters. In a darkened cell, Aki is informed that he is ready to make a deal with the “Future Devil”, who appeared in the opening episode of Chainsaw Man from the very beginning of the anime adaptation and will certainly give the hunter power, but at a terrible cost.
Fortunately, it wasn’t all bleak in this latest episode, as Denji and Power merrily put themselves through a new training regiment via a mysterious man known as Kishibe, who murders both Fiends dozens of times in an attempt to hone their skills for the battles that lie ahead.
