These days, the Chainsaw Man manga fills the void left by the MAPPA anime adaptation after the first season. With the series following a new protagonist in Asa Mitaka, a war devil, the story grows with hints of big bads that are sure to present challenges for both the new hero and Denji’s chainsaw devil. As the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse begin to pile up, a new primal devil may be just around the corner, according to a Chainsaw Man fan. After the disastrous date that ended in the previous chapter The Man with the Chainsaw, Ace is presented with a terrifying sight of ordinary citizens throwing themselves from their balconies to certain death. The gruesome scene opens with an ordinary couple discussing a new deal, both debating whether they should use the deal to buy a new car. Of course, as is usually the case in Chainsaw Man manga, things take a turn for the worse when the two seemingly agree to kill each other out of the blue. While fans can be thankful that Power is a wild character, the series continues to deliver plenty of incredible scenes in her current absence.
Chainsaw Man: The Primal Devil
With each of the fiends roaming the earth gaining their power and existence from humanity’s overall fear, the manga previously focused on the Famine in the latest chapter of Chainsaw Man. Asa is introduced with a terrifying new fiend missing his head and seemingly replacing his noodle with various arms that are also eerily in place in the final moments. While fans might think that the devil could be Death, the new theory has fans wondering if the new threat could actually be “Suicide” specifically, which is surely what humanity fears.
There is no word yet on whether there will be a second season of the Chainsaw Man anime, but even if the anime adaptation does go ahead, it will still be some time before we see these current events hit the small screen. The Chainsaw Man manga has released quite a few chapters that will need to be adapted, but if the first season is any indication, it’s sure to be a bloody fun ride for anime fans. Studio MAPPA is bringing anime fans a number of projects this year, so we can wait for the second season until 2024 at the earliest.
