It will be a while before we see Asa Mitaka, aka the new War Devil, make his way into the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man, should the studio continue to animate the gory Shoenn series that was born from the mind of creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. Despite this fact, Asa really hit the ground running when it came to her debut as the latest shonen manga protagonist, and one cosplayer not only brought Mitaka to life, but disturbingly, one of the weapons she created using her newfound devilish ability.

After a disastrous date at the aquarium that featured not only the introduction of the third horseman of the apocalypse, Famine, but also the return of the Eternity Devil, the two devils have already confirmed another date that will most likely lead to disaster. Unfortunately for the war fiend, her attempt to transform Denji into her latest ‘spinal sword’ was unsuccessful, meaning her affection for the chainsaw fiend will have to grow if she is to succeed in her task.

Currently, Chainsaw Man has yet to confirm if Studio MAPPA will return for a second season, although the popularity of its first certainly lends credence to the idea that we haven’t seen the last of the devil hunters. As MAPPA has stated in the past that they hope to adapt all of Fujimoto’s manga stories, the production house certainly has a lot on their plate for 2023 as they are currently working on Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise, and more.
