Makima observes Power’s new, enlarged horns and informs Dnji that she has ingested too much blood from the Zombies and needs some drained to reduce her power and make her less unruly. Denji agrees and Power sweats nervously.Makima reveals that while Power is busy, he is working with Shark Fiend Beam. Beam appears from the floor and tries to hug Denji, but a surprised Denji knocks him to the ground. Makima states that Beam has a distinct fondness for Denji and has promised to follow his every command. Makima notices that Denji is in a bad mood, so she asks him out.The next day, Denji excitedly waits for him to arrive, and he arrives a few hours early. Makima appears and reveals that the pair will be having a movie marathon at the local cinema, non-stop until midnight. During the first film, Denji remarks that he is not laughing with the rest of the audience. Looking at Maki, he sees that she is not laughing either. After the film, Makima briefly criticizes it, commenting on the plot and cinematography.The pair visit another movie and Denji again notices that he and Makima are the only ones not responding to the movie. Again, as the film ends, Makima criticizes it. This cycle continues all day and Denji is getting bored.Before entering the final film, Denji notes that none of the films had any impact on him, commenting that he might “Just [not] Really Get Films.” Makima replies that she is the same, but the few who responded to “Changed [her] life”. While watching another movie, Denji is shocked to find himself crying during a seemingly “trivial” scene. When he looks at Maki, he sees that she is also crying quietly.They both leave the theater in good spirits and talk about how much they enjoyed the last movie. Denji asks Makima if she believes she has a heart. In response, she leans in and listens to his heartbeat before telling him. She smiles and walks away, leaving Denji blushing in the middle of the street.
